The United Chinese School Committees Association of Malaysia (Dong Zong) was established in 1954. The Chinese school committeesĄ¯ duty is to nurture and develop mother tongue education. They, at the state level, form the various state associations, which in turn form the Dong Zong at the national level. Dong Zong has a strong social backing and mass base.

This unit seeks to illustrate the organization of Dong Zong, its related education committees, past chairmen, and the leaders of the present Dong Jiao Zong Education Centre in Kajang, through both writing and pictorials.

The exhibits highlight the struggle of Dong Zong against discriminatory policies, from the time of its establishment, the early period of the country's Independence, through the seventies and the eighties until today. It also emphasizes the accomplishment of Malaysian Chinese education, under albeit unfavorable political conditions and educational policies, clearly depicting the dynamism of Malaysian Chinese education in our country.
