The Competition which started in 1978 is administered by the non-profit Australian Mathematics (AMT) Trust. It is a truly international event, with countries throughout the Pacific and Southeast Asia. The competition papers are set by Australia¡¯s experienced Mathematics teachers and academics. The objectives of the competition are 3 fold:
(i) To highlight the importance of Mathematics as a curriculum subject;
(ii) To give students an opportunity to discover talent in Mathematics;
(iii) To provide resources for the classroom and general discussion.
The certification is widely recognized, it will prove valuable in student folios and enhancing student profiles when seeking a job or applying for admission to college. This competition will throw useful light on the entrants¡¯ strengths and weaknesses and their standing in international mathematics. All students receive a certificate or award commensurate with their performance, together with a detailed report showing how they went on each problem, with comparisons as to wider statistics. Besides, all schools which enter the AMC receive a confidential set of statistics which the school can use in checking its performances overall. Outstanding students will receive special awards from AMT.

In 2007, 12,677students in Malaysia took part in AMC through us. We are proud to have won 2 gold medals.
