Objective:
The English Language examination is to test the students' competence in processing the type of technical information found in manuals and textbooks, and in conveying technical information.
Standard :
The questions set should have some relevance to the technical field. The standard of the questions should be slightly lower than that of the SPM English but higher than that of the PMR English.
This subject comprises two papers:
Paper 1: Subject Questions (40％) ……………………… Time allocated: 1 hour 40 minutes
Section A: Composition (20％);
Section B: Letter-writing (10％);
Section C: Cloze Test (10%).
Paper 2: Multiple-choice Questions (60％) ……………… Time allocated: 1 hour 10 minutes

Subject Questions (40％)
Section A: Composition (20％)
― 5 topics will be set
― Students are required to write a composition of between 200 and 250 words in length.
― Students should be able to write reports, descriptions and explanations of processes procedures, etc.
Section B: Letter-writing (10％)
― 2 topics will be set.
― Students are required to write a formal/informal letter of between 120 and 150 words in length.
― The format of the letter should be based on the one provided by the Unified Examination Department.
Section C: Cloze Test (10％)
― A short passage containing 10 blanks will be provided. Students are required to fill each blank with only one word.

Section A: Comprehension (30％)

― The content should be related as far as possible to the students' field of studies.

（二）试卷一（纯美术）共分两组，两组均须作画。考生须于报考时预先分别从甲、乙两组各两个项目中谨慎各选定其中一项，临场不得要求更换有关项目。
甲组：素描

乙组：绘画创作
C项：水墨画 —— 3题选做1题；
D项：水彩画 —— 3题选做1题。

（四）命题范围：
试卷一：纯美术
甲组：素描
A项： 人物素描 —— 除了要求考生描绘现场人物的特定姿态外，尚须配衬意义适当的背景，以丰富人物画内容的生动性。
B项： 静物素描 —— 除了要求考生描绘现场静物的特定位置组合外，尚须配衬意义适当的背景，以丰富静物内容的生动性。
乙组：绘画创作
C项：水墨画 —— 体现东方传统人文精神和观念。范围包括山水、人物、花鸟、走兽和鳞介等。
D项：水彩画 —— 体现东西方人文精神和观念。范围包括一切生活事物、社会、自然景物和人生理想等。
试卷二：实用美术
(i) 视觉传播设计 ——— 字体设计、标志设计、海报设计、广告设计、包装设计、 封面设计、POP广告设计和插图等。
(ii) 产品设计 ————— 工艺设计、服饰设计和家具设计等。
(iii) 环境、空间设计 —— 室内设计、舞台设计和庭园设计等。
（五）出题方式：
试卷一：纯美术
甲组：
A项 人物素描 —— 在考前5分钟由监考主任指导预先聘定的（指定性别及年龄的）人物依试题所规定姿态摆姿。
B项 静物素描 —— 在考前15分钟由监考主任依试题所规定的摆设方式布置有关选定的静物。
乙组：
C项 水墨画 —— 现场公布有关题目。
D项 水彩画 —— 现场公布有关题目。
试卷二：实用美术：现场公布有关题目。
（六）纸张及材料：
（a）素描、水彩画及实用美术
本局将供应一张“80磅普通画纸”，规格为55 cm×37.5 cm，背页右上角贴有《积分表》，表上列明有关考生的考生编号及项别，并加盖统考印章。
（b）水墨画
本局将供应一张规格约40 cm × 68 cm的“宣纸”，宣纸背页左下角贴有《积分表》，表上列明有关考生的考生编号及项别，并加盖统考印章。
（七）作画媒介
（a）人物素描及静物素描：
任何“黑白”的作画媒介/颜料均可采用，如：炭笔、铅笔、钢笔、沾水笔等。
（b）水墨画
任何适当的水墨画作画媒介/颜料均可采用，如：中国画颜料、水彩颜料或不透明水彩颜料、墨汁或墨条与墨砚等。
（c）水彩画
任何适当的水彩画作画媒介/颜料均可采用。如水彩、蜡笔、水粉（Gouache）等。
（d）实用美术
任何适当的水溶性作画媒介/颜料，不透明水彩、广告颜料（Poster Colour）、水粉（Gouache）或压克力颜料等。
—— 上述各作画媒介或颜料必须以具有“快干”和“不易脱落”的特性为准。
—— 各考生须自备有关作画媒介或颜料，不得临场向其他考生商借。
（八）作画用具：
任何作画用具均可采用，惟考生必须自备，不得临场向其他考生商借。
